PAINTING SERVICES

Toy Fanatic offers painting services for resin heads. While I may do vinyl heads in the future, currently, I only paint resin. Prices vary depending on type of paint job. It takes me approximately two hours to do a basic paint job similar to a vintage Mego. It takes longer to do a female head and even longer to do something more painterly like some of the horror heads seen below. Most of photos are 1/9 scale heads. I can also do 1/6 scale or other scales for a comparable price. With my services you get a primed head that is painted with the quality that would satisfy me if it were mine. I prime and varnish the heads to promote longevity. Yes, I could do it cheaper and faster if I omitted some steps, but I wouldn't be satisfied with the result. To give you an idea of what goes into painting a head, here is a rundown of the general process: sand any imperfections in casting, remove flash and putty any air bubbles sand more if necessary wash head with alcohol and soap prime head to promote longevity and improve paint adhesion and surface quality paint head in layers (it may take four or five thin layers of paint to cover) sand off any imperfections or nibs in paint touch up and repaint any details (it ALWAYS takes a few tries to get that symmetrical and fresh look-- although the end results may not reveal this process). PAYMENT INFORMATION
I require payment before painting. I will consider painting heads I do not sell, depending on condition. I will charge extra if there are lots of bubbles and it's a poor quality casting. You are responsible for shipping both ways. Depending on the size of order, most heads are completed and shipped in about a week. Occasionally, it will take two weeks. So far, it has never taken longer than that. Shipping is VERY reasonable. I usually ship for flat rate in bubble envelopes. Email me at halbritter@chartermi.net for quotes.
